First, we know for certain that Disney has offered overtime to cast members who work at call centers on Friday morning. This is the normal procedure the day free dining is announced due to expected hold times, often reaching 2-3 hours.. One caveat to this news: Disney Cruise Lines is making a big announcement on Wednesday, so it could simply be an extension of that. We know that Disney is launching another ship next year. Could the overtime be needed for some sort of DCL booking promotion that Disney expects to be big?
Next, travel agents have been told to expect some big news on Friday morning. Fridays aren't traditionally a big day for Disney announcements, so this is a bit different. This, combined with the overtime rumor, piques my curiosity a lot.
Again, this could be anything. We know that Disney has said they intend to wean the public off of discounts, but if you're waiting for free dining, stand by. I'll post the news as soon as it comes out.
One final word of caution: This is all conjecture based on an email sent to Disney travel agents and comments made to our travel agents by cast members at reservations. Ultimately, only Disney knows if and when free dining will be announced and they normally don't let the cat out of the bag.
Nonetheless, it looks good. I'll be Shouting out a cautious "yay!"until Friday.
UPDATE: Sadly, free dining was not released. More information when I hear anything that seems credible.

This is exciting. Because I just called yesterday in hopes of finding out if they had any specials for the fall and I was told that Disney was doing "cut-backs". Let's hope not! We had a great deal last October and I would love to be able to do a similar trip again! :) Can't wait to hear what the news is
I definitely don't believe that they'll do away with discounts altogether, but they have announced that they'll be "weaning" the public off discounts. I still think it's a good bet that some type of free dining offer, particularly given that they offered it in the UK already.
I'm hoping for something good for November!!! We've been going to Disney for the last 4 years on promotions!!
I heard the announcemnt was the groundbreaking in Shanghi. Was that it? Why would they need extra CRS staff if it's a park that's not even open yet? I'm hoping there's more...
